An Adventure In Space and Time Posters Revealed!

From source; BBC:

This special one-off drama travels back in time to 1963 to see how the beloved Doctor Who was first brought to the screen.
Actor William Hartnell felt trapped by a succession of hard-man roles. Wannabe producer Verity Lambert was frustrated by the TV industry’s glass ceiling. Both of them were to find unlikely hope and unexpected challenges in the form of a Saturday tea-time drama, time travel and monsters!
Allied with a team of brilliant people, they went on to create the longest-running science fiction series ever, now celebrating its 50th anniversary.
This episode is due to air a week before the 50th anniversary special.

The Light At The End is out now!

From the Big Finish website:
It’s the 23rd of October, one month ahead of the anniversary of Doctor Who on the 23rd of November, and as of today, the digital download releases for all versions of Doctor Who: The Light at the End will be made available. This includes the Limited Edition, the Standard Edition and the Vinyl Edition.
Mailing out of the Limited Edition CD version has begun today.
Nick Briggs, executive producer: ‘The Standard Edition CDs should start to be mailed out this coming Friday, and the Vinyl Edition will start mailing on November 2nd.
‘With the anniversary of Doctor Who imminent,’ continues Nick, ‘and everyone champing at the bit for the celebrations to begin, we thought it only right and proper that our special anniversary full-cast audio should be released a tiny bit early. Our plans for this very nearly went awry when the company responsible for the physical production of our CDs (and LPs!), Key Productions, experienced a series of unforeseeable problems beyond their control. This is what has caused the slight delay on the Standard Edition and the slightly longer delay of the Vinyl Edition. But for all our customers who can access the digital versions of all these releases, they can listen straight away.
‘We know that those customers who favour listening to the CD or the LP rather than downloading a digital version, might find this a little frustrating, but we thought this course of action would benefit the vast majority of our loyal listeners. We offer our sincerest apologies to any customers who find this decision doesn’t suit them, and hope they will understand our reasons for going ahead with the releases now.’

Donna Noble for 50th Anniversary Return?

OK! magazine have printed a huge 50th anniversary spoiler or is it just one huge mistake? It seems to be a generic print to be used for promoting the 50th anniversary, but has it been used too early before they officially confirm Catherine Tate to be casted as Donna Noble. Remember, this could be completely wrong and just a big mistake, at the moment it is just a rumour.

The text says:

The countdown is on for Doctor Who fans as the iconic show prepares to celebrate its 50th birthday with a bang. A 75-minute anniversary episode has secretly been filmed to mark the occasion, which will see favourites including David Tennant, Catherine Tate and Billie Piper returning to our screens alongside the most recent Doctor, Matt Smith.

Monster Collection: Davros Review

Recently, BBC released their new idea; The Monster Collection. There are six Monster Collection DVDs in total: Daleks, Cybermen, The Master, Silurians, Sontarans and Davros. Each DVD includes a classic episode and a recent episode, to introduce new fans of the series to classic episodes.

Today, I am reviewing the Davros Monster Collection, and in my opinion the best one. This DVD consists of Genesis of the Daleks from the Tom Baker era and The Stolen Earth/Journey's End starring David Tennant. Genesis of the Daleks featured the fourth Doctor on a mission given to him by the Time Lords to stop the Dalek race from coming to existence. It is a six-part adventure and is really worth seeing if you haven't seenit before or well worth watching again if you have.

The second episode is The Stolen Earth/Journey's End- the series 4 finale. Unfortunately it doesn't have the episode beforehand, Turn Left, which is a bit disappointing, but nevertheless, it is a very iconic episode. I personally love this episode because it features lots of the Doctor's friends/companions including: Martha Jones, Sarah-Jane Smith, Mickey Smith, Captain Jack & Torchwood, Harriet Jones, Rose Tyler, Jackie Tyler, K-9, Luke Smith, Wilfred Mott, Francine Jones and Mr Smith.

This DVD is priced at a very reasonable £7.00 on Amazon, which can be bought here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Doctor-Who-Monsters-Collection-Davros/dp/B00CEB74FW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1381351249&sr=8-4&keywords=davros

Lost Doctor Who Episodes Found?

The Mirror are claiming that at least 100 classic episodes have been recovered in Ethiopia.

The newspaper article states:
A group of dedicated Doctor Who fans tracked down at least 100 long-lost episodes of the show gathering dust more than 3,000 miles away in Ethiopia.
It was feared the BBC programmes from the 1960s – featuring the first two doctors William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton – had vanished for all time after the Beeb flogged off a load of old footage. But after months of detective work the tapes have been unearthed at the Ethiopian Radio and Television Agency.
If the tapes are returned in time the BBC hopes to announce the news during celebrations to mark Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary next month.
The recovered episodes from the 60s include much-loved scenes from The Crusade, The Enemy of the World and The Ice Warriors series.
After each airing only once between 1964 and 1969, copies were sold to the Ethiopian Agency and the BBC then lost or wiped the originals.
Doctor Who expert Stuart Kelly revealed news of the discovery at the Wigtown Book Festival in Scotland last week.
When contacted by the Sunday People he said: “I was told by a friend that the episodes have been found in Ethiopia. The BBC is negotiating to get them back right now. I really can’t say any more than that.”
Rumours emerged of the lost shows earlier this year when tapes and 16in films of 90 episodes were thought to have been handed to a TV historian after turning up in a container loaded on a ship from Zambia.
